Not sure on the color of this colt. His legs
are a smokey black, his body is a shade somewhere between bay and
chestnut and his mane and tail have a lot of black and silver in them.
Not sure if there is such a thing as a smokey bay, but that is what we
are calling him for now! He is upheaded and correct and the most curious
one of the bunch.

Ellie's first
baby is a small, correct colt of the most unusual color. He must be a
bay roan, though he could turn "blue" roan as his coat comes in. He
surprised us by coming while no one was home. Guess that isn't too
unusual for horses, but we really didn't think Ellie was that ready! We
should have known, though, as it was a surprise that Ellie was even
pregnant. She was in driving training with Matt when it was discovered
she was in foal!

in this world during the barbecue following Kim's memorial service.

Thursday, May 3rd started out great with the
arrival of Hailey's filly at 3am. But by 8pm all of us here were
devastated. We lost Paul and Karen's wonderful little stallion,
W&LDs Cherokee Flash, that evening. As we were leaving the barn shortly
after the vet left we found Bailar in labor, and in real trouble.
Her filly had a front leg hooked over her neck and could not be born.
Paul rescued the filly for us, and Flash's spirit was reborn minutes
after he left this world. If not for Flash, we would have lost this
filly. With our hearts breaking over the loss of Flash, we greeted
this elegant filly in his name. Thank you, Flash, for your last
gift to this world. You will always be remembered in the spirit of
this filly.
